Keno Strategies That Work

It won’t generally be thought of as the funnest game in the field of gambling, but keno has tons of steadfast fans. And why not? It’s a constantly thrilling lotto-style game that’s a breeze to play, readily available in several different variations, and one that might yield millions for gamblers who learn its innumerable subtle rules. But let’s deal with the basic rules here.

When explaining keno to novices, some betting masters compare it to the lottery. This is at least to a certain extent apt, in that both games are fundamentally numerical. However, to carry that comparison too far would be to belittle the good many unique traits that make keno so compelling. Unlike bingo, keno gamblers have the freedom to choose the numbers for each and every card.

Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the user is furnished with an increased level of personal responsibility by being able to pick as many (or as few) numbers as she desires. And it doesn’t take a doctor of keno to figure out how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your picked numbers with a ordinary#2 pencil like you used when you were in school.

Once you’ve checked your numbers, carry the card back to the keno pit manager at the keno stand. The nice person will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your loud shirt and would like to help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will win precisely $.00 for your efforts.

OK, so there you have strategy numero uno: always be sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s move to something a little bit more useful, what do you think?

Now that you’ve checked off your numbers, get into a comfortable keno booth and observe the action unfold on the big keno monitor. That’s where the winning numbers show up for all to see. If you selected winners, mark your card aptly. Sake care not to move to slowly, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You are required to get back to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, and a new keno game will surely start within a few minutes.

Strategy number two: always make sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Since you don’t trust yourself to beat that 5 minute deadline each and every time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty slips. When the maximum amount of games (fitting the amount of tickets) is played, you are then able to get off your lazy back side and go collect your winnings.

Still another alternative is known as a "stray and play" keno slip, which usually lets you make number selection for 30 games or more. Golly, you can take vacation to France and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to redeem your numbers. Most "stray and play" game tickets are good for up to a whole year after purchase!

And now you know a handful of indispensable strategies for winning keno. If you are an advanced user, they may seem quite obvious. Still, it won’t hurt to brush up on the basic tactics, and if you are a novice gambler, every bit of direction will help make your keno games more fun.
