Keno is a casino game of luck with a rich and acclaimed background. The game that we know and love has experienced incredible alterations since its initial inception. Gaming historians have traced its background as far back as 200 Before Christ to a Chinese type of amusement called ‘The Game of the White Dove.’ It’s a well-documented certainty that a style of keno was played in a bingo-like arrangement on the eastern seaboard just about the time of the humongous Chinese immigration at the time of the gold rush.

In its contemporary form, keno is something like bingo in that the pair of games are built upon numbers. A single keno card is printed with 80 numbers and the player shall choose as many as s/he wants. This is accomplished by circling or otherwise marking the numbers with a pencil. As soon as the bettor has picked out the numbers, he or she has to bring the card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The cashier will then issue a receipt after marking down the gambler’s numbers. It’s the responsibility of the gambler to redeem any winning ticket before the next round starts, so stragglers need to keep alert.

Now that we’ve covered a little bit of keno’s compelling history and basic rules of game play, you are probably itching to discover where you can wager on keno on the internet. And that is just a reasonable thing for an eager keno gambler. Rest assured you have many choices to choose from when it comes to some serious online keno fun with all the fervor you might expect.

It may not generally be seen as the sexiest game in the arena of gambling, but keno has loads of passionate supporters. As well it should! It’s a constantly entertaining lotto-like game that’s uncomplicated to pickup, abundantly available in a number of alternate variations, and one that can pay out mega-dollars for gamblers who master its endless subtle nuances. But let’s deal with the basic rules here.

When explaining keno to amateurs, some wagering masters compare it to lotto. This is at least tolerably apt, in that each game is generally numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far might be to miscalculate the good many unique aspect that make keno so entertaining. Not like bingo, keno users have the power to select the numbers for each card.

Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the player is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to select as many (or as few) numbers as she desires. And it doesn’t take a doctor of keno to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your desired numbers with a standardpen like you had when you were a kid.

Once you’ve selected your numbers, take the keno card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The girl will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your pretty face and wants help out, without a winning slip with you, you will win exactly $.00 for your time spent.

Ok, there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno slip. Let us move on to something a little bit more complicated, what do you think?

After you’ve picked out your numbers, get yourself into a comfy keno booth and observe the action happen on the big keno monitor. This is where the winning numbers are displayed for all to see. If you have winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Make sure not to take too much time, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You are required to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, as a new keno game will surely start within five minutes.

Strategy number 2: always make sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Since you can’t trust yourself to meet that five-minute deadline each and every time, you always retain the option of purchasing a "multi-race" ticket. These include the very same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 slips. When the maximum amount of rounds (fitting the amount of tickets) is finished, you should then get off your numb rump and go get your winnings.

Still another choice is known as a "stray and play" keno slip, which commonly lets you make number picks for thirty keno games or more. Gosh, you can take a world tour and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to collect your numbers. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after you by it!

And now you are aware of a couple of needed methods for winning keno. If you are an experienced keno player, they may seem stupidly obvious. But it doesn’t hurt to bone up on the basic tactics, and if you are a new user, every little bit of direction will help make your keno playing time more enjoyable.
