Keno Strategies That Win

It may not usually be considered the best game in the universe of gambling, but keno has huge amounts of fanatical supporters. As well it should! It’s a routinely entertaining lotto-like game that’s uncomplicated to play, readily available in several assorted styles, and one that may pay out mega-dollars for those who learn its heaps of subtle nuances. But let’s deal with the basic rules for now.

When defining keno to beginners, some gambling experts compare it to bingo. This is at least to some extent apt, in that each game is generally numerical. But to carry that comparison too far might be to belittle the many unique traits that make keno so interesting. Not like bingo, keno gamblers have the freedom to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the player is furnished with an extra level of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as many (or as few) numbers as he feels they need. And it doesn’t take a genius to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your chosen numbers with a ordinary#2 pencil like you had when you were a kid.

After you’ve marked your numbers, carry your card back to the keno pit manager at the keno stand. The girl will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and would like to help out, without a winning receipt on you, you will get precisely $.00 for your actions.

Now there you have strategy #1: always take care to keep your keno ticket. Let’s move on to something a tiny bit more advanced, what do you think?

Now that you’ve marked your numbers, settle into a nice keno booth and see the action happen on a monitor. This is where the winning numbers are displayed in lights. If you checked winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Make sure not to take too much time, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You want to get up to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, as a new keno game will likely get going within a few minutes.

Strategy number two: always make it back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you can’t trust yourself to beat that 5 minute deadline each and every time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the very same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from two to 20 cards. When the max amount of rounds (matching the amount of tickets) is completed, you should then get off your numb rump and go collect your winnings.

Still another choice is referred to as a "stray and play" keno slip, which usually lets you make number selection for 30 rounds or more. Hell, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to fret about getting back in time to retrieve your numbers. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

So now you are aware of a number of essential strategies for winning keno. If you are an adept keno player, they may seem to be quite obvious. Still, it will never hurt to brush up on the basic methods, and if you are a new gambler, every bit of advice will help make your keno playing time more enjoyable.
