The background of Keno

Keno was created in two hundred before Christ by the Chinese military leader, Cheung Leung who used keno as a way to finance his declining forces. The metropolis of Cheung was at war, and after a bit of time appeared to be looking at a country wide shortage of food with the dramatic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to come up with a quick response for the financial disaster and to create revenue for his military. He, as it follows designed the game we know today as keno and it was a great success.

Keno once was well-known as the White Pigeon Game, because the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from larger locations to the lesser villages. The lotto ‘Keno’ was brought to America in the 19th century by Chinese expatriates who migrated to the States for work. In those times, Keno used 120 numbers.

Today, Keno is regularly wagered on with 80 numbers in almost all of the US land based casinos along with web casinos. Keno is commonly liked today because of the relaxed nature of playing the game and the basic reality that there are no skills required to enjoy Keno. Regardless of the reality that the chances of getting a win are terrible, there is constantly the hope that you could win quite large with a tiny gambling investment.

Keno is played with 80 numbers and twenty numbers are drawn each game. Players of Keno can select from two to 10 numbers and bet on them, whatever amount they are able to. The pay out of Keno is dependent on the wagers made and the roll out of matching numbers.

Keno has grown in universal appeal in the US since the close of the 1800’s when the Chinese characters were changed with more familiar, US numbers. Lottos were not covered under the legalization of wagering in the state of Nevada in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the idea that the numbers are horses and you want your horses to place. When the Nevada government passed a law that taxed off track gambling, the casinos quickly changed the name to ‘Keno’.
