It will not commonly be thought of as the most lucrative game in the arena of gambling, but keno has loads of keen fans. And so it should! It’s a consistently entertaining lottery-type game that’s uncomplicated to play, readily available in many assorted variations, and one that might pay out mega-dollars for gamblers who learn its innumerable subtle intricacies. But let’s begin with the basic rules here.
When defining keno to novices, some gaming pros compare it to the lottery. This is at least to a certain degree apt, in that each game is generally numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far is likely to be to devalue the innumerable unique characteristics that make keno so interesting. Not like bingo, keno users have the ability to pick the numbers for every card.
Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the player is given an extra level of personal responsibility by being able to determine as numerous (or as few) numbers as he desires. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your handpicked numbers with a every day old#2 pencil like you used when you were in third grade.
Now that you’ve selected your numbers, carry the game card back to the girl at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your mug and wants help out, without a winning receipt with you, you will get precisely $.00 for your efforts.
Now there you have strategy #1: always be sure to keep your keno slip. Let us move on to something a tiny bit more complex, ok?
Now that you’ve picked your numbers, get into a nice keno booth and observe the action unfold on the keno monitor. That is where the winning numbers are shown for all to see. If you’ve got winners, mark your card appropriately. Be sure not to drag your feet, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You are required to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, and then a new keno game will probably begin within five minutes.
Strategy number two: always go back to the keno booth on time!
Since you don’t trust yourself to make that five-minute deadline every time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty tickets. When the max number of games (matching the number of tickets) is played out, you are then able to get off your numb bum and go retrieve your winnings.
Yet an additional option is known as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which commonly lets you make number choices for thirty keno games or more. Heck, you can take a world tour and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!
