Keno Strategies That Work

It will not often be looked at as the most fun game in the universe of gambling, but keno has huge amounts of fanatical enthusiasts. And so it should! It’s a always entertaining lottery-ish game that’s easy to play, abundantly available in tons of alternate variations, and one that may return mega-dollars for those who learn its limitless subtle rules. But let’s deal with the beginner’s rules here.

When explaining keno to newcomers, some betting pros compare it to bingo. This is at least nearly correct, in that both games are basically numerical. However, to carry that comparison too far is likely to be to underestimate the countless unique aspect that make keno so fun. Unlike bingo, keno players have the power to select the numbers for each and every card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the gambler is given an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to select as numerous (or as few) numbers as she wants. And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your picked numbers with a standardball point pen like you used when you were a kid.

Once you have marked your numbers, take your game card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The clerk will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Make sure no to lose this (potentially) lucrative bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning slip on you, you will collect precisely $.00 for your actions.

And there you have strategy #1: always be sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s advance to something a tiny bit more useful, what do you think?

Now that you’ve marked your numbers, get into a nice keno booth and see the action unfold on the keno monitor. That’s where the winning numbers are shown for all to see. If you’ve got winning numbers, mark your card aptly. Sake care not to dilly dally, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You need to get back to the keno booth to collect your winnings, and then a new drawing will almost certainly get going within five minutes.

Strategy number 2: always go back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you do not trust yourself to beat that 5 minute deadline each time, you always have the option of purchasing a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from two to 20 tickets. When the maximum number of rounds (the same as the amount of tickets) is played, you can then get off your lazy butt and go get your winnings.

Yet another option is referred to as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which generally lets you make number picks for 30 keno rounds or more. Hell, you can take vacation to France and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to retrieve your numbers. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!

So now you are aware of a couple of indispensable techniques for winning keno. If you are an accomplished gambler, they might seem very obvious. But it doesn’t hurt to bone up on the fundamentals, and if you are a novice keno player, every tiny bit of direction will help make your keno betting more entertaining.
