It may not generally be seen as the funnest game in the field of betting, but keno has millions of fanatical supporters. And so it should! It’s a regularly exciting lottery-like game that’s easy to learn, readily available in a number of different styles, and one that may return mega-dollars for gamblers who learn its innumerable subtle intricacies. But let’s begin with the beginner’s rules for now.
When explaining keno to amateurs, some wagering masters compare it to lotto. This is at least in some ways correct, in that both games are essentially numerical. But to take that comparison too far will be to undervalue the many unique aspect that make keno so entertaining. Not like bingo, keno enthusiasts have the power to pick the numbers for every card.
Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the gambler is accord an additional degree of personal responsibility by being able to choose as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she needs. And it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your handpicked numbers with a standardmarker like you used when you were in third grade.
Once you’ve picked your numbers, take your keno card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The girl will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Don’t drop this (potentially) lucrative bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your pretty face and would like to help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will get exactly $.00 for your efforts.
OK, so there you have strategy numero uno: always make sure to keep your keno ticket. Let us advance to something a bit more complex, shall we?
Now that you’ve picked out your numbers, settle into a comfortable keno booth and watch the action take place on a big video monitor. That’s where the winning numbers are shown for all to see. If you’ve got winners, mark your card aptly. Sake care not to drag your feet, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You need to get back to the keno booth to collect your winnings, as a new round of keno will probably begin within five minutes.
Strategy #2: always be sure to get back to the keno stand on time!
Assuming you can’t trust yourself to make that 5 minute deadline every time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 cards. When the maximum amount of rounds (fitting the amount of tickets) is played, you are then able to get off your lazy back side and go get your winnings.
Yet another opportunity is referred to as a "stray and play" keno card, which usually lets you make number picks for 30 keno games or more. Golly, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after you by it!
So now you know a couple of indispensable methods for winning keno. If you are a knowledgeable gambler, they might seem to be very obvious. However, it will never hurt to bone up on the basic practices, and if you are a new gambler, every tiny bit of direction will help make your keno experience more agreeable.
