It may not ordinarily be deemed the sexiest game in the arena of gaming, but keno has loads of keen enthusiasts. Why wouldn’t it? It’s a constantly entertaining lotto-esque game that’s a breeze to play, readily available in several assorted formats, and one that can return millions for gamblers who master its countless subtle rules. But let’s deal with the basic rules here.
When explaining keno to beginners, some betting masters compare it to lotto. This is at least to a certain extent correct, in that both games are generally numerical. But to take that comparison too far can be to discount the good many unique traits that make keno so interesting. Not like bingo, keno users have the power to choose the numbers for each and every card.
Keno cards have a grand total of 80 numbers, but the gambler is granted an additional level of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as many (or as few) numbers as he or she wants. And it doesn’t take a super genius to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your picked numbers with a normalmarker like you used when you were in school.
Now that you have marked your numbers, take your game card back to the keno pit manager at the keno booth. The girl will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not lose this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning ticket on you, you will win precisely $.00 for your efforts.
And there you have strategy number one: always take care to keep your keno receipt. Let’s move to something a bit more complex, shall we?
Now that you’ve marked your numbers, get yourself into a nice keno booth and see the action happen on a big video monitor. This is where the winning numbers are shown in lights. If you checked winners, mark your card appropriately. Sake care not to dilly dally, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You must get back to the keno booth to collect your winnings, and then a new keno game will probably begin within five minutes.
Strategy number 2: always make it back to the keno stand on time!
Since you can not trust yourself to beat that five-minute margin each time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from two to twenty tickets. When the max amount of rounds (fitting the amount of tickets) is played out, you may then get off your numb bum and go get your winnings.
Still another choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which generally lets you make number choices for 30 rounds or more. Heck, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after it’s purchased!
And now you know a handful of essential techniques for winning keno. If you are an adept user, they might seem stupidly obvious. However, it doesn’t hurt to study up on the fundamentals, and if you are a new keno player, every tiny bit of advice will help make your keno wagering more entertaining.
